Dorset Holiday Cottages

Dorset is a popular county for cottage holidays and appeals on many levels. Firstly it has some well known seaside resorts with fine sandy beaches such as Bournemouth and Weymouth. These resorts have all the facilities you would expect from a popular resort. For those seeking a quieter seaside break, there are other towns such as Lyme Regis or West Bay where the atmosphere is more relaxed. Dorset has a beautiful coastline, much of which is known as the Jurassic coast due to the large number of fossils that are regularly found on the beaches. Walking on the coast path is an ideal way to experience the Dorset coast first hand, but some of the paths may be steep, so come prepared.

For those seeking a country cottage break, Dorset also has lots to offer. It has a wonderful selection of small villages and historic market towns that are a thrill to stay in or explore. This is Thomas Hardy country, beloved home of the the famous author of Tess of the D'Urbervilles and many more books. Visit Dorset and see the area where most of his stories are set. Historic towns to visit include Dorchester, Sherborne or Shaftesbury with it's beautiful Gold Hill as pictured above.

If you wish to partake in any sporting activities, such as sailing, then Poole or Weymouth have much to offer. There are also fine restaurants in the area or why not eat in a Thatched pub that dates back hundreds of years, as there are still a number to be seen in the area?

Holiday Homes in Dorset come in all shapes and sizes suitable for a range of tastes and budgets. We advertise traditional thatched cottages, converted farm cottages and brand new plush apartments. The majority of the cottages we advertise in Dorset are available through national booking sites or local agents.

With the popular resorts of Bournemouth and Weymouth, the dramatic Jurassic coastline and the beautiful rolling hills, Dorset is a popular destination for cottage holidays.
