The nature reserve at Blakeney Point is just 2 miles and can be explored either on foot or by taking a seal-spotting boat trip from nearby Blakeney village. The nearest beach can be found at Cley-next-the-Sea which is 5 miles from the cottage and offers a wide expanse of shingle but for a sandy beach head to Wells-next-the-Sea which is still within easy reach just 7 miles away. Situated at the heart of this single-storey barn conversion property the first room that guests will come to on arrival is the spacious yet cosy-feeling lounge/diner with its range of comfortable seating allowing guests to enjoy a night in with a film on the TV/DVD. In the summer months throw open the patio doors to the garden or at cooler times of the year light the wood burner to give the whole room a lovely warming glow. Just behind the seating area there is a dining table seating four next to which a doorway leads through to the kitchen with its oven hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher washing machine and tumble dryer. The sunny conservatory is accessed through the kitchen and is a great spot to sit and read the papers with a pot of tea. The village of Saxlingham where this cottage is situated is a wonderfully peaceful part of the world surrounded by rolling countryside and perfect for enjoying scenic walks and cycle rides. Those with an interest in history or architecture may like to pop into the village church which has some fine examples of stained glass windows dating as far back as the 13th century. 4 miles to the east of the village the market town of Holt is a great place to spend an afternoon wandering round the shops and stopping for lunch in one of the numerous eateries whilst the North Norfolk coast with its beaches harbour villages and wildlife reserves can also be reached within a 4-mile drive. Stepping inside this former schoolhouse for the first time guests will immediately gain a sense of the property s history. The main living area extends to 30 and has a high beamed ceiling which has been beautifully maintained by the owners. Despite the grandeur of the room the lounge area has a lovely cosy feel to it with its deep sofa and open fire. In the corner of the room a TV/DVD provides entertainment in the evenings whilst there is also a piano which will no doubt delight musical guests and the room also offers a dining table with views over the garden. The kitchen area is at the opposite end of the property and comes equipped with an oven hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. The bathroom (which is located downstairs) has been finished in a contemporary style and offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Wooden stairs lead to a partially galleried bedroom a romantic space with a double bed situated under the eaves. (Please do be careful of the reduced head-height). Outside the property boasts an amazing 1 acre of grounds which has been mainly left to long grass in order to welcome a host of local wildlife.
