The East of England is a popular are for cottage holidays. Firstly on a practical basis it is easy to get to, being just a few hours drive from Greater London or the Midlands. Suffolk also has some special areas that are well worth visiting such as the seaside town of Southwold or the fishing village of Aldeburgh. Essex too offers some lovely countryside settings or the commercial resorts of Southend or Clacton if that is more what you are looking for.
